Costa Rica no longer requiring at negative Covid-19 test for entering US tourists starting October 26, 2020

by

Costa Rica has made the bold move to do away with the requirements that all tourists entering the country provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours of departure. This is of course both good news and bad news for the people of Costa Rica who have been struggling economically since the start of the pandemic in early spring of 2020. It will be a relief to those struggling families that rely on the tourism industry to survive and I am sure they will be elated to get back to work.

The other side of this double edged sword is that now there will be an increased flow of humans from all over the world that will add a major potential source of spreading the virus among the local population. Add to the negative the large number of people that seem to be driven by political bias and for some odd reason associate social distancing with betraying their political affiliation and you have a recipe for disaster. These will be the people that refuse to wear a mask or keep their social distance when visiting Costa Rica. These people should be reminded that Costa Rica requires them to follow social distancing protocols, keep your USA politics in the USA, you are in Costa Rica, respect your host, obey their laws!
